hi

For designing a distribution transformer you should have the knowledge of bessic term such as maximum aspected load ,input voltage means feeder voltage, output voltage to be supply ,and calculate the maximum current ,select winding wire diameter.losses, size and cooling of transformer will depends upon the maximum aspected load.most of things has to know. just go for study then after you can do most of thing yourself only.....

thanking you.

for this thing you can search on google also...

Does the employer not have design procedures and examples to clone, then?

Not a simple question to answer in great detail or with a simple link to a website.

First you need a good technical foundation such as a degree in engineering specialising in industrial power and distribution. If you don't have that (or something similar) then you will not be able to design distribution transformers (at the very least commercially). In addition you should get a few years of practical experience in the power engineering field to gain an understanding of power distribution systems in the real world work (something universities cannot fully prepare students for).

Why do you ask, is this a general interest question or something more sinister (such as homework or job interview preparation)?

  1. Enroll at engineering university.
  2. Study electrical engineering
  3. Specialise in power engineering
  4. Successfully complete classes in physics, electrical theory, magnetics, electric machinery, and power system design.
  5. Graduate.
  6. Study the electrical code for the region in which your transformers will be installed.
  7. Study transformer design standards published by the design authority (IEC, IEEE, BSi, etc.) for the same region.

8. Work in the field under the tutelage of an experienced engineer for at least 10 years and learn all the things they cannot teach you in school.
