Google "spike block". I have been using Spike Block lightning/surge arrestors for years and they work well with the Notifier line of panels. I live in Florida which is the lightning capital of the world. After losing many panels to lightning, and trying many brands of arrestors, I have found Spike Block works as advertised. PS: I am not humping Spike Block in any way, just informing as what I have found to work.

WJ,

1 GA vote from me as this is a great info. our hotel server system + some computer was damaged after we hit by the lightning last month, the reaction of our project management to restored the LPS was too long as I been following it up prior the lightning strike us, maybe due to budget constraint blah, blah.... as this will not cost me too much i would like to try as it involve a simple installation.

Many thanks

I wished you contacted me earlier, I would have given you a CAD drawing as to how to install them (Spike Block) and also what to use for AC surge suppression as well as low voltage surge suppression.

I have everything you need...so if you want to do it right, contact me.

Hi,

it is always a good practice to install LV Surge Protectors at the Input power side of any critical systems like fire protection.

You can find these LV Surge Protectors in Schneider or Legrand Product catalogues.

If you have connected a telephone line to your Notifier panel for sending alert messages to key people, you need to provide Surge Protector suitable for Telephone lines to this too.

Finally, just check you have provided any Line Isolators immediately before & after your Loop card or not. If not, providing the same will give additional protection to your Loop card. We had a bad experience because of this.

Regards,

sitaram.
