Induced Voltage

05/15/2011 7:37 AM

Hi friends,

if some one can explain how to calculate the induced voltage for 132 kv cables as the cable supplier is asking me to do this calculation details are hereinafter::

132 kv,1c,cu,1200mm2 cross section, lead sheath, xlpe, each three cables to be laid together,,,,,,,please advise

The lead sheathed cable is free of induced voltage on other parallel run cable. The leadsheath contain the capacitance and magnetically induced voltages. By earthing the sheathing the the induced voltage diminishes.

thanks indeed Mr.Nairck,

Thats ok,as you said the sheath will be earthed with the earth link box ,but why do you think the supplier asked me to do the induced voltage calculation?and what is the formula in details if possable.

regards

Ask the individual who wants the calculation the question "why".

There will be a Voltage field and a magnetic field.

The magnetic field will pass through the lead sheath and induce a current / Voltage in the other cables (lead shields included.

To calculate all these interactions ??? must find the litterature! I did not do this in details.

The iron wire armour protect the magnetic flux from crossing it.External armour of other core is protecting its conductor from receiving linkage of flux.power cables are generaly designed as no interfering other any circuits.
