#25 here is the quick answer. There are other points covered as well. This would be a good starting point for further research. Bringing the turbine to critical speed should be covered in the documentation for your particular unit.

RESONANCE WILL SET IN and prove to be DISASTOROUS. That is why we should CROSS the CRITICAL SPEED QUICKLY.
