If the vacuum is uncontained, the atmosphere will move into it. The phenomenon is calles an implosion and, depending on the structrue of the object, may damage it due to shock waves.

You can't create a vacuum (or even a vaccum) in the atmosphere (or atmossphere). You can only create it in a rigid container. If by "object" you mean a solid, inanimate object, nothing much will happen to it.

If it's a big enough vacuum in the atmosphere, you will create an atmospheric imbalance and the earth will wobble, come out of orbit, and explode.

Do NOT try this at home.

Just out of curiosity, when/how did the spelling mistakes in the original post get corrected? I've never noticed that happening before, and there's no shortage of posts where it's needed!

Cheers........Codey

I think admin now sometimes mucks about with spelling and grammar in the (sometimes misguided) belief that it improves the post.

I wondered what you were talking about. I must not have seen the OOP. That's the original, original post.
