Please go through the power system text books. Do not expect your class works to be solved here.

Check the chapter on stability - how the system stability differs between the short and long transmission lines. How the load transmissible depends on the length of the transmission lines. Why the system stability becomes critical for transmissible power for long. What are the factors that affect it.

Your answer will be clear.

BTW: the FACTS device also helps in improving the dynamic/transient stabilities by instantaneous(almost) switching. But that was your previous question.

Please note the best person to answer your theoritical question are your text books and your professors. After all exactly for this purpose they are there.

Under inductive (lagging) conditions, the capacitor banks are automatically switched in, thus providing a higher system voltage. They also may be placed near high and rapidly varying loads, such as arc furnaces, where they can smooth flicker voltage.
