SMPS

06/13/2011 2:36 AM

We a SMPS in our seed treament m/c and is used for converting 415 V AC to 24 V DC for PLC, recently, due to power fluctuation its has burnt and now i have fixed a SMPS which converts 230 V AC to 24 V DC also there is option of fixing a transformer to convert 415 V to 110 V which again require a SMPS for 24 v DC . My question is by having 230 to 24 v SMPS,will there be any risk to the panel or PLC

Not if the overvoltage circuitry in the SMPS is correctly designed and operating.

Presumably the wiring is protected with suitable devices in accordance with local standards and codes?
