TG-13 Governor

06/21/2011 1:08 AM

TG-13 governor is not taking over or controlling the speed once the steam stop valve is opened. Turbine speed is increasing beyond normal speed and tripping on overspeed trip rpm.

A description of a "TG-13" governor and its operating principles would help others to trouble-shoot any of its problems.

TG - 13 and 17 governers are droop type governers. if you have this problem of governer not taking control , this may be due to the excessive droop in the governer. Open the top cover and decrease the amount of droop setting. Normally the droop setting is set at 4% to 6% of speed. Hope this solves your problem

Best Regards
