Conveyor Chain

06/20/2011 11:15 PM

hi,

can anyone please help me with any of the following questions?

- what are the most common type of conveyor chains used in collieries?

- what are the approximate life spans of these?

- how are they maintained?

- what are the average parameters/length of conveyor chains used in coal mines?

any help would be greatly appreciated

thank you

In general, "conveyor chain" is like ordinary roller drive chain, but with double pitch between pins/rollers of otherwise the same size. A related version is called "log chain," which is typically a large size. Such chain can be lubricated with a brush-on oiler, or by an automated greasing system. You can find more info at the Websites of such manufacturers as Morse, Martin, Dodge, Tsubaki, etc.
