Looking To Find Hard Copy Of Book

06/24/2011 2:29 PM

Hi Folks;

I am new to CR4 and noticed a link to the e-book entitled "Relativity 4 Engineers With Cosmology" by Ba Jordaan.

I would love to find a hard copy edition of this book if it is available. Can anyone offer advice as to how I would find a hard copy edition.

Thanks;

JimmyJames

Boy, are you in the right place.

Ba Jordaan is a member of the forum. Goes by the name of Jorrie.

Click on the link. It will take you to his member profile. On that profile page is a link to his own website, and I think you can order one there.

[edit] After posting I had a look around, and all I see is the e-book. Might not be available bound with covers. Anybody else?

The ebook goes under the name Relativity 4 Engineers and is by Burt Jordaan.

Looking at the purchase page suggests there is no hard cover version unless you get a book conserver to make you one from the PDF file. $$$$$$

Try looking at abebooks.com, they are linked with thousands of book dealers and you should be able to find a hard copy at a reasonable price. I use them often when looking for old tech books.

Some time ago I tried to order this book. It didn't come through, and it is too long ago for me to remember why. Maybe some international glitch? I also don't remember if my card ever got charged.

In general, I think small-run books tend to face obstacles in marketing. A retired nuclear physicist friend and I wrote what was meant as a popular (very little math) treatment of modern physics. It sort of got "out there"--maybe 200-300 copies sold.

Hi Tornado,

Jimmy did contact me and I told him that the situation is more or less the same as what you described - too low a demand for printed copy.

BTW, if you had any problems with downloading the eBook, drop me a p/mail. :)

Hi Folks;

Thanks for all the feedback regarding the book. I have just purchased the e-book and at only $9.00, I think it will prove to be one of my best book purchases ever. I cannot wait to print it out as I have a good color printer. I am happy to be part of the CR4 community.

Regards;

Jim
