power loss

what is the power loss on a coupling between engine and alternator at engine overspeed. thanks

It's the difference between shaft input power and shaft output power, neither of which can be measured from here.

Your question makes little sense. Couplings do not consume energy, so how could there be a loss present. Perhaps you need to rephrase your question.

Some couplings have losses in the form of heat.

Agreed... a fluid clutch comes to mind. In this case however, I can not see how loses could be present.
