Electrostatic Coated Abrasive Plant

How to prevent HT sparking and arcing in an electrostatic coated abrasive plant?

Applied votage : 0-40 kV recitified DC

Gap between electrodes : 20 mm. to 40 mm.

Web speed : Upto 30 m/min.

The electrode current is the key with electrostatic transfer, the current determines the transfer rate. The voltage should control the current. The speed of the web controls the coating thickness, so it's a case of balancing the two.

Is this a case of trying to increases output?
