I would expect that "3c×2.5mm2" refers to a multi-conductor cable--that is, one jacket containing 3 insulated wires, each with cross-sectional area of 2.5mm^2.

Thus, I would expect 2 runs to refer to 2 such cables run in the same raceway (that is, conduit, cable tray, ...).

But, there is potential for misunderstanding, so I would ask the person / company that generated the cable schedule. It will be cheaper (and less embarrassing) to ask than to redo the work if it is done wrong.

You could phrase your question something like this--"I think this means you want two cables, but I just want to be sure before we do the work."

I should add that somewhere there should also be a cable specification that tells you much more about the cable to be run--maybe just a manufacturer and type number, but maybe things like a temperature specification, and required materials of the jacket and insulation over the individual conductors.

You need to find that specification and make sure you comply with that as well.

3cx 2.5mm2 - 1 run, means, three cores, insulated with proper insulation, with proper voltage grade, conductor size of each core is 2.5mm2 and single run or single length laying. Whereas, 3cx2.5mm2 - 2 run, means, three cores, insulated with proper insulation, with proper voltage grade, conductor size of each core is 2.5mm2 and double run or doble length laying.

Single length laying means, from source( panel) to load only one cable connection. Double length laying means, from source( panel) to load two nos cable in parallel connections. Generally this is done to enhance load carrying capacity and minimise voltage drop.

From what I understand, you have to lay two cables with the same specs for the same loop.

Maybe 1 is used as a spare... :)
