Shipboard Electrical Engineering

Anyone know of any software available for shipboard electrical calculations such as generator load analysis, d.c. load analysis, volt. drop, etc?

Thanks for your input. I currently use SKM Power Tools which is very similar to ETAP. I was just wondering if software as I ask was available. To tell you the truth, I was thinking about writing it myself but if it was available, waste of time!

For the items mentioned, I don't see that the calculations would be different for shipboard vs. onshore applications. However, grounding arrangements (or lack of them) could be different.

Hey Tornado, been to Sitka many times and love AK!

Yes, some of them could be applied but not all. Partially because of the many different regulations we have to deal with, it's not just NEC. But if you know of any software out there related it would be appreciated!

Thanks,

British Standard 7671 can be applied.
