Why No "Home" Link On Profile Pages?

07/27/2011 9:00 AM

Why don't User Profile pages have Home links? As far as I can see, they're the only pages within CR4 that don't.

fig. 1 - Home page (detail)

fig. 2 - My profile page (detail)

Yes that's what I was thinking too, it can save lot of back and forth clicks. with that I would like to see that 'see all forum threads' on every page of CR4.

Hi John,

You can click on the CR4 Logo at the top of the page and it will take you there.

Good point - well pointed. But that given, why not make it more obvious, and scrap the Home link on all the other pages? Just looking for a bit of consistency.

I understand. There should be a degree of standardization within a web site. Lord knows there is none across all.

I do sympathize with the web programmers though. Heck, I have a hard time keeping conventions in my Excel reports... there's always that "one thing" that makes you have to add, remove, or change something and upset the "standard form". That, on top of seeing a better way to present (or getting a suggested format change), messes with having a standard.

There are always going to be exceptions to the "rule".
