helping paws

04/18/2007 8:51 PM

this is a site that I have learned from, and I respect those who share their time and wisdom very much. sometimes I see displays of serious mental horsepower and it really is awesome thank you for being here. I am not trying to kid myself or anyone else that I belong in your class,I am a student of many , many subjects and have spread myself very thin mostly from attention disorder . every few minutes fresh distractions that usually interest me more than the project at hand lure me to explore . the results feel like a tornado is at my side, unfinished projects knee deep. .sorry for rambling ,here is the reason I write , most people have animals around the house ,I find myself getting angry at the time being wasted by these creatures ,laying around all day , eating and making messes . there must be many ways to get some productive output that could be harnessed to benefit the household. I don't mean whips and chains , but some kind of entertaining process or exercise even if it results in keeping things clean. I saw a large wheel for cats to run inside and the cats seem to enjoy something to do just don't tell them they are charging a battery or helping out

If you're looking for "production" from an animal, get a beast of burden (ox, donkey, mule, etc.). It's a fool's endeavor to try to get any meaningful work from a cat (I should know) and you won't be able to generate significant energy from a cat running in a wheel. The value of a house pet is in their companionship, not in what they do "for" you. Don't get angry at them for being what they are.

I was only kidding around , I have had animals all my life, just trying to lighten things up. it would be cool though , coming home seeing cats having a good time and putting some money in your pocket. . I have a dog ,he loves to work.it wouldnt be to hard to assign some small task , he will run after balls all day...... I am ok taking care of them

Fred was a dog I used to own, he used to answer the telephone
And every now and then he took the truck to town for groceries.
Me and old Fred got along real well, at the checkerboard, old Fred was hell
And he never minded takin' his turn doin' the dishes.

But when Fred was just about two years old, he started actin' kinda bold... Chasin' after that Beagle, lived across the highway.
He was down there day and night, and I told him: "Fred, you know you'll have to fight... "
He said: "I've already whipped everything between here and the railroad!"

Oh, Fred, you are a good dog,
But the women got you runnin' wild and crazy as a loon.
Fred, you are a good dog,
Now you're chasin' cars around the bars and howlin' at the moon.

One night Fred came stragglin' in, he's lookin' bad, but he's wearin' a grin
He said: "Boss, I took a wife and I want you to meet her."
She didn't have very much to say.... it's plain to see she's in the family way
She said: "Fred you better go back and get my suitcase."

But Fred never made it to the other side, right in the middle of the road he died...
Flattened by a trucker haulin' dogfood.
Now his wife is livin' here, yappin' at her kids and drinkin' my beer, and she won't drive the truck, nor do the dishes!

Oh, Fred, you were a good dog,
But you never knew when to chase 'em and when to turn around and run.
Oh, Fred, you were a good dog,
But you're flat out on the highway, a-dryin' in the sun.

Now old Fred's gone, and I'm kinda glad, 'cause if he was here now he'd sure be mad...
Not one of those pups looks anything like him!

Those cats are probably thinking "How do we get that human to chill with us . Laze around , scratch the sofa , annoy the dog , drop hairs on the computer (that static feels sooo nice) ..." .
