Connection Type in High Rating Three Phase Motors

08/07/2011 9:56 PM

In high rating three phase motors ,the stator winding are connected in isolated star.the stator winding is not connected in star with neutral point grounded. while in case of alternator, the stator winding is connected in star with neutral point ground. bascillay we use star connection with neutral point for taking the advantage of reduction in insulation cost.

second thing is that alternator's star pont is always resistively grounded and motor star pont is inductively grounded due to stbility point of view. but i want to know that why we connect high rating induction motors in star with neutral point isolated. what is the benifites of such type of connection?

Try doing your own homework. It's the best way to learn.

My Friend.. it is very obvious that is homework, and not explained very well, find someone to help you lay out your question, the find google or a good text book.. then come back if you don't understand.
