G.I. Conduit for Fire Alarm System Instead of uPVC

Is it a mandatory to used the G.I. Conduit on all Fire Alarm System Lay -out on that are embedded on Slab instead of uPVC Conduit? Do we have a reference on this as per National Electrical Code latest Ed.?BSN (British Standard ) latest Ed. ? NFPA latest Ed.?

Just want to be clarified..

GI Conduits serves the double purpose.

1. RF interference free signal cables

2. Complete fire protection in comparision with PVC - which melts >70deg. C

So, it may be made standardised. However, For concealed wiring, embeded in walls & Slabs, you may go for PVC conduits, but RF interference free feature will be lost. You may have to use braided signal cables in that case.

Thanks for the reply..Any basis of reference from British Standards (BSN) latest Edition, regarding the subject? or National Electrical Code (NEC) latest Edition?
