How about catering to a better class of clients (i.e., less concerned about buzzword abbreviations)?

ITP = international toilet paper?

That's much better (and a good illustration of why to explain acronyms and abbreviations up front).

I'm not a painting expert, but there are paint coating thickness sensors that can measure how much paint has been applied to a surface. (Even gallons ÷ area can do this, on average.) Perhaps a checklist would be useful; e.g., document that surface treatment (sandblasting, brushing, applying solvent, etc.) has been completed; followed by priming (if needed); then painting (maybe multiple coats); drying/curing; etc. In other words, keep track of all the steps that are performed, and how they conform to the paint manufacturer's recommendations.

(Just a few ideas.)
