Start by defining the application.

Next, compare available packages to the application to prepare a short-list.

Third, select the one on the short-list with the lowest overall life cycle cost, and buy it.

define the welding application - is it resistance welding? what is the peak demand? what is the demand cycle? what is the duration of the peak demand? what is the construction of the welding transformer - 2ph to 1ph - or 3ph to 1ph? is the DG to be a standby power source for intermittent use or regular continuous power source?

share the information of the application to get best recommendations . . . hold it secret to drive the discussion into side issues and flood mailboxes with notifications . . . life is full of choices . . . .

Thank you for your reply. I want to know the calculations done for choosing DG set for welding application. The welding can be any type of welding like resistance welding or arc welding etc.... If you explained me with an example of welding load details and DG set choosing calculations it will be very useful for me.

It sounds like, for <...any type of welding...>, any type of DG set would do.

A comparison between the KrisDelTM one and the LynDoorTM one during trials would be worth reading...
