2001 Sebring Dash Lights Problem

08/26/2011 11:55 PM

My dash lights don't light on my 2001 sebring lxi. The red warning lights work. It acts like it has a bad ground, or could it be something else?

Probably is. Can you find the 240 V contact?

Do the green, black and white warning lights work?

OK, did you check the fuses?

thanks, red and green warning lights work. i'm not sure what you mean by a 240v contact on a car. all the fuses check out.

Purchase a years subscription for your car. Download a wiring diagram for the dash I would start with the ground for the dash lights.

check your license plate light. I had a 2005 sebring the dash and headlights stopped working and it turned out to be a short in the rear license plate light wiring. the fuse was blown and when replaced it actually heated up the wiring to the point I saw smoke coming from the rear which is how I found the problem. They made the light assembly shoddily and was worthless, had to buy an aftermarket socket for the light and with some epoxy and tape got it to work.

It could even be a load of burnt out bulbs/fluorescents......I have had a dar dash several times, either they were black (quality problem) or burnt out....

You need to have a look.
