Understanding Power Cable

08/30/2011 6:25 AM

Dear all,

could you pls let me know what is the reason behind the standard cable sizes, like1.5,2.5,4,6....32..70, 95 Sq.mm cables instead of 1, 5, 10, 15, 20,30........100Sq.mm??? so easy to remember. could you tell me why the cables are of those sizes....

further , for cable more than 16 Sq.mm we are using ECC usually half the size of the power cable why????? when u know that Resistance of a conductor is inversely propotional to area of cross section???? again earthing cble is required to have least resistance

could you pls let me know why???
