Power Transformer Taps

09/01/2011 1:41 AM

By +/- 3*2.5% main transformer taps, I understand that taps ranges from -7.5 to +7.5 making 7 number of steps.

But I have data from manufacturer that says -15% to +10% of range of taps in steps of 1.875%. Is this possible? Because with the steps, it does not end up exactly to +10% when starting from -15%. Also, is this range valid i.e. -15% to +10%?

Regards,

sks

Technically this is impossible. 15% = 8 x 1.875%, but 10% is not an even multiple of 1.875% (5 x 1.875% = 9.375%.)
