Locked Rotor Current

what is locked rotor current...??/ i searched in internet but i couldnt get the excat explanation....

do LRC is the current which the motor draws during starting of teh motor or draws when rotor gets jammed...????

These two situations are nearly synonymous. Until the rotor of a starting motor builds some speed, it is virtually the same as a stalled/locked/jammed rotor.

The Locked Rotor Current is the supply voltage divided by the terminal resistance.

If rooter is "Locked" and motor is powered up the drawn current called Locker Rooter current which is 6-8times > the full load current.
