i meant pressure vessel, for corrosion internal lining should be done ( depending upon the media used in the pressure vessel ), some clients prefers FRP lining while the others prefer Rubber lining.

But I thought you were asking about removal of the (FRP) lining. What has client's preference to do with it?

  • What size is it?
  • How heavy is it?
  • Does it have any lifting lugs?
  • Is there scope to get a crane over it or does it need to be jacked and wheeled out on skates? Is there a doorway big enough?

If these sorts of thing could go in the original thread posting, next time, responses from the forum will be much faster.

It was a general question ( removal of internal FRP lining in a pressure vessel ). There should be a manway in the pressure vessel.

  • size of the pressure vessel: 3.2 m dia x 4.8 m dia
  • yes it has lifting lugs
  • the doorway is big enough to enter a person

  • Why is the lining needing to be removed?
  • Would it make more sense to replace the vessel with a non-lined version instead, and cascade the lined vessel elsewhere with its inspection certification dosumentation intact? What is the secondhand value of the cascaded vessel on the open market?
  • Would the method of removal of the lining affect the pressure rating and certification of the vessel once modified?

If the client wants rubber lining, why not leave the FRP lining in place and just add the rubber lining?
