DC Motor: Reverse Braking vs Regenerative Braking

what is difference between reverse braking and regenerative braking. When DC motor is operated on Full Controlled Full Converter Drive,then which operation we get reverse braking or regenerative braking?how

Quick version:

Regenerative braking, you need a fully regenerative (4 quadrant) DC drive. The kinetic energy in the moving mass is converted to electricity and pumped back into the line.

Reverse / Plug braking, the Drive attempts to tell the motor to run the other direction (negative torque in a way). The kinetic energy in the moving mass is converted to heat in the motor.
