Magnet Motors Effeciency

09/22/2011 12:33 AM

i've seen simple permanent magnetic motors on "you tube", that appear to be almost perpetual. how efficient are they?

Despite all the magnets and other contraptions/doodads on such "motors", many of them are just flywheels. If the friction loads are very low, they will spin for a fairly long time once brought up to speed. This fools lots of people.

would it be possible to use a levitating armature to elimatate he friction load?

Almost, but not quite. And it still will not do away with energy out < energy in.

These are really bad questions, as would be disclosed by a basic physics class.

"Latest technology" ≠ "latest marketing hype" (or "scam").

There are "permanent magnet motors," but the energy to drive them comes from the electrical voltage/current input, not from the magnets. So-called "magnet motors" (e.g. Perendev) are not the same thing, and they don't work as usually claimed.

Highly efficient as there are no rotor losses. For example a standard motor of 11kwp4p will have a eff of close to 89% but a pM motor will have 95%.Frame size also reduces.
