How ISO 9001 Certification can Improve Your Business

It could be, even if it didn't work. ISO9001 could be applied to condoms made of concrete, for example.

We live in a time where ISO,TQM, Black Belt from Mars etc are all the rage. Seems like there are too many programs to even consider. But, that all depends on the sales pitches thrown at the managers at the top of the food chain. Who then believe they have the miracle cure to their bad management in their hands and this will save us from ourselves.

I have seen this with 6 companies I worked for in the past. All of which ran willingly off the cliff screaming TQM is saving us (or what ever program they were using). moral to the story here as with all crafted programs is----, If the wheel is flat on one side you need to fix the wheel. All of the words mutter or uttered on how do do so does not fix the wheel. Hands on, head out of the clouds, get your hands dirty gets the wheel fixed. Using some of the tools that are used in some of these programs can help speed this process up a bit. If used correctly and under the terms that they were designed to be used under. That takes a commitment that I have only seen in one of the many companies I have worked for.
