What is Corresponding Material in ASME Code for 'Stainless Steel 304'?

Look it up. You do know how, right?

First you must know that S.S 304 not the main designation of the material but it grade in each material in S.S materials and there is another grades like 304L, 310, 316, 347,…. Etc.

The grade of 304 is the low-grade in stainless steel materials.

the value of tensile strength and allowable stress change from material to another material and you can get all of these values from ASME sec II part A or PART D

And here you are the most common material ( stainless steel ) in each application:

For plates SA 240 grade 304 , 304L ,310, 316, ….., 347,…etc.

For pipes SA 312 grade …………………………

For tubes SA 213 ……………………………….

For forgings SA 182 ……………………………….

For fittings SA 403 …………………………

For bolting SA 320 grade B8 with SA 194 - 8

And remember that stainless steel material mean that these material which have chemical composition of Cr % greater than 11 %.
