Cable Size - High Mast Lighting

Hi friends,

my high mast lighting load is 8000 watts / phase ( 24KW totol )and 300 mts away from the power source . kindly help me to know the suitable Al armoured cable size .

Sigh. No matter how many times we try to answer these questions or that we point out that CR4 FAQ #14 states that people should do their own homework, this type of question comes back.

You should follow your local wiring standard. Your local standard will point out that there are many critical factors that are needed to be known (most of these you do not provide us) to make a proper cable selection.

A partial list of items that must be known are voltage per phase, above or below ground cable run, temperature exposure, sunlight exposure, water exposure, insect exposure, power distribution limits, legal permission.

Oh and there are people here who get paid to answer these kinds of questions. Many will answer these questions if you show sufficient effort that they know you are not being lazy and that you will understand their answer. I've yet to see either from you.

Using the same quick wit and intelligence you displayed in finding this forum in the first place, you should endeavour to find a web site that will give you the answers if you type in the information you have.

If you can Google, just type in "cable sizing". What reason is there that you think we are here to do the math for you?
