Purification of Zinc Sulphate Solution

Zinc sulphate (Mono-hydrate) is used as fertilizer, in textile & also as feed ingredient. But sometimes it is not indicated properly on the bag. Can any one tell me what may be the easiest way to purify the solution into feed grade if the original solution was not pure?

It depends entirely on what the impurities are.

Actually I don't know what types of impurities do exist in zinc sulphate from China origin. My attention is toward Cadmium & Dioxins especially.

You have 2 choices here:

1) Buy a higher grade of chemical that comes with a Certificate of Analysis.

2) Have the material from China analyzed for RoHS and other toxics, then figure out a way to purify to acceptable standards for the use intended. This will entail further and ongoing testing. The cost of the ZnS may be cheaper, but consider the added cost to test and purify.

Thanks. I'll try to purchase higher grade, if it could be found. Otherwise it would be so costly.
