2nd Big Bang?

10/06/2011 9:37 PM

Has anyone explored or researched the possibility that a 2nd Big Bang has occurred to explain why the Universe is expanding at an accelerated rate? Can you recommend books or articles on the subject?

A second big bang has not happened in this universe..................at least there is no evidence to support it.

That is not to say that another big bang didn't happen in another universe, and the two/three/four/five are on a collision course.

I would recommend comic books..................best enjoyed by candle light, and a drink that makes your mouth and eyes burn.

By the very definition of one, the current Big Bang might not have been the only one, though had an "earlier" one existed, or one existed "elsewhere", then there would be no evidence of it in the Universe. By definition, there is only one Universe.

There is a theory which states that if anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
