PressBrake Indexation

10/11/2011 5:24 AM

Just a quick question on a down stroke pressbrake, does the numerical value of the Y Axis increase when the Y Beam is raised or does the value decrease.

My feeling is that the when the Y Axis is raised the value would decrease!

The reason that I ask this question is that other persons have tried to repair this fault before I got to it and I am not sure of the axis orientation, but I have a feeling that when you index a pressbrake the value is decreasing.

Any ideas

Best Regards

Joe

The machines I've worked on had XYZ axis control, at the home datum all were zeroed. All positions were then positive in relation to home.

Indexation a word is not. Indexing proper word would be.

Poetic license. Analogous to vexing-vexation.

Sorry Mikerho

Just so I won't forget I have done some lines for you.

Indexation a word is not. Indexing proper word would be.

No No that doesn't sound right, how about

Indexation is a word according to CR4 spell check, please take this up with CR4

Indexation is a word according to CR4 spell check, please take this up with CR4

Now lets look at you grammar "Indexation a word is not. Indexing proper word would be" is this Shakespeare?????

Wouldn't it have been better to say "To Indexing and not to Indexation".

Best Regards

I think he meant "indexificational positioning paradigms".

Same as TonyS our presses all zero when blade is fully raised and count in the positive direction on the down stroke

In practice this stuff varies. 1. It depends upon where "home" is. 2. It depends upon convention. 3. Most machines can be made to work either way.

I think your understanding is correct, most of the time.

4. It depends on type of controller being used
