Commercially, hydrogenation would do it.

At home, try processing in a blender with a drop or two of water.

A semi-solid such as palm oil may be made sufficiently solid to use as a 'grease' by aerating it in a blender. If the consistency isn't adequate - warm temperature will cause it to melt back to liquid state in any case - then adding a small amount of water (or other non-oily liquid) and processing in the blender will help you to obtain a solid consistency. The tendency of the product made with water to become rancid, means it must be stored in a refrigerator and used within the expected time period of its shelf life.

That should be enough information for you to experiment.

Palm oil is an organic mixture of various components. Many of which will go rancid, lose lubricating capability or harden. It takes a bit of chemistry to stabilize it for long term use. For short term, you can use as is, and I believe it is not a contaminant to food. But check that one out, if is permitted at your place.

Industrial grease? yeah, maybe. But it takes more chemistry, than the question indicates available.

Palm oil can be used as biodiesel, as a strictly limited shelflife item.
