Generator Synchronising Relay..!

What do you "need" this for, to understand how it works or to try and build your own?

Here's a verbal description: Three things need to match across the synchronization point; the source and system voltages, frequencies, and their phases. The outputs of those three comparators are "anded" and permission is given to the synchronizing breaker to close. I will leave the mundane details of making all this happen correctly to your engineering skills while navigating Google.

The relay does the comparison of two PT inputs i.e., Runinng PT & Bus PT.

Each PT should provide two phases (atleast) for the comparison.

Application: Synchronising Breaker to be selected (via Sync. Selector Switch) through which the BUS & Running PT will be selected.

Once the comparison i.e., Voltae,Frequency & Phase shift are performed, the relay permits the breaker to close.
