Hyrdrotest of Heat Exchanger

10/20/2011 7:22 AM

Dear all,

For those who has any experienced;

I would like to conduct a hydrotest,

- fill up a water at shell side and then pressurized up to 25 barg

- to heat up until 200 DC from the shell side.

If anyone has a method on how to do that, please let me know.

Thank you

I take you are building it to ASME Requirements and do not have the ASME references

ASME does not call for hydro test at 200 deg C. Well, what is your MDMT?

Follow the guidance given by the Engineer/Surveyor from the company that will be supplying burst indemnity insurance cover for the vessel.

To the letter.

If they don't have it, then expect to be dropped or at the minimum and a large increase in its premiums

You are asking experience without any code reference. The hydro test you are conducting is for your ref. or for acdemic reasons or homework.
