?? Looks like he received a GA responding to an original posting by an anonymous poster. Why is that a problem? Seems OK to me.

Baxter and other users post stories in the "Latest Engineering News" section. These are not authored because they're essentially sending you somewhere else to read content.

the content is credited as a blog entry, which implies the generation of unique content

many of the entries are off topic for the blogs they are posted on

if you write the 50 words, you should own the 50 words

links not withstanding

I for one would like to know who's writing what, so I can skip the drivel consistently generated by some

Engineering News is different from the unauthored blogs associated with GlobalSpec newsletters. The text entered in these entries is usually taken from the linked article.

http://www.globalspec.com/engnews/

These types of content are created as blog entries because we have two choices on CR4 - forum thread or blog entry. It's simply the way the site was designed. Eng News and newsletter blogs (these especially) don't have associated authors because that person is usually not going to review comments. The posts are meant to inform or start a discussion.

I realize that many of the newsletter entries are OT; we've discussed this with the newsletter team but this is outside of CR4's editorial control for now.
