Hi. Thank you for your reply. I am now using dial indicator check of granite table but the I was thinking of using such as scanner or sensor checks without touching the parts.

"nonsense comments"?

It's a nonsense question.

No indication of what, or why, or scale of the part. Or what a 'stiffener' is.

Could be 10 x 10 meters or 0.1 x .01 mm - totally different problem and approach.

Could do it optically 2 or 3 ways, or even by encoding. No way of telling.

Therefore all above are 'pulling your leg' and justifiably so.

Try helping yourself before complaining about the help you invite.

Ok, keep whining and don't give the data required to solve the problem - see if I care

Use a laser flatness measuring machine. Just search on GlobalSpec for many options. You'll have to take the goofy answers along with the straight answers if you want to play with us.

I do not give a d*mn with that guy who thought he is smart but only have sh*t in the brain. Anyway, thank you for your advise. I am a member subscribe in the Global Spec but I have not seen any of the scanner equipment that can help me to check the flatness of a metal part that size abt 600mm length, 450mm width and less then 100mm thickness. The spec control is .02mm max. As of now I am checking using a dial indicator on a granite table and sometime I need to use CMM which the usage of the CMM is always occupied. Filler gauge also have limitation. I have seen Keyence Laser Sensor product that have the application but just asking the expert in this forum just to get a better result before purchase.

I think it will be the last help you ever get on this board, insulting a member is a bit like insulting a family.

Goodbye, please close the door behind you.

Millions of people knows what is the truth behind the truth. I have said thank you if someone helps and I will also say thank you if you do not wants to help. Millions more will. A family means "Father and Mother I love You". You better check your windows too and make sure you lock before leaving.

Re: Measuring Equipment

I don't know about millions, but many would see a question asked that could refer to any of a thousand measurement exercises, each with a dozen different approaches and 10's of manufactures serving each need.

They might also see a person who needs to 'lighten up' a bit and think about why responses are not giving 'instant correct answers' they feel somehow they 'deserve'.

I always find this entertaining. Especially when rather than 'thinking', or 'reevaluating' the technical, their response is personal.

However the important thing is you are now looking at appropriate measurement methodology for your application, not equipment appropriate for a totally unrelated use.

Now before you go no 'defending your actions' and fighting with other members;

Imagine how much quicker it would have been if you had just given those dimensions first up.
