Multiply by the density of the material.

(For solids and liquids, density depend on the temperature; for gases, it also depends on the pressure. These properties can be looked up in tables or charts.)

X1000:- 1M³ of water = 1tonne, 1000 Kgs = 1 Tonne, the metric system is so simple it is all about 10s.

1 litre of water = 1kg. 1000 litres of water/1000 kg of water = 1 m3
