Current Versus Speed Characteristics

10/24/2011 5:23 AM

Can anybody help me to get the Current versus speed and Torque versus Current characteristics of a Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM)????

Thanks in advance

Torque is provided by the load's torque/speed curve.

Torque and current are proportional, almost linearly.

There is no relationship between current and speed that does not involve torque.

Torque multiplied by speed and divided by efficiency equals voltage multiplied by current.

Current is linear to torque ant torque vs speed is sometimes a LOAD requirement curve, but not the motor. That is why you overlay a load curve over a motor curve to make sure the motor torque will always be equal or greater than what the load demands as it accelerates.

Is this applicable to all types of motors?

Current is proportional to torque

I(current) ~T----->1

Torque is inverse proportional to speed

T~(1/speed)---->2

thus

from 1 and 2

current ~(1/speed)

plz comment on it
