Oil Filteration of Transformer

Can we filter the oil of transformer online ? If yes , then tell of which protection to be bypassed . Wheather this online filteraton is safety or not ?

Do you mean filtering transformer oil while transformer is energised?. Yes. I have seen a utility doing it. They switched off for a few minutes to connect the equipment and switched the transformer on while oil is being warmed,filtered and circulated. I believe only Buchholtz relay was by-passed.

If your asking the question you must not have expertise enough to do this type of work. If your oil testing shows filtering is needed at this time, I would suggest one of the many company's that have expertise to complete this job safely. They will advise you of procedures they follow.
