Communication Cable

11/03/2011 1:23 AM

- what is - ' no conductor smaller than 32 / 0.2 mm (1 mm2) shall be used for interconnecting cabling' - what does this 32 / 0.2 mm (1 mm2) represent? Here, we are talking about communication cable.

regards,

sks

The given numbers are inconsistent with each other.

American Wire Gauge AWG 32 ≈ 0.00795 inch diameter ≈ 0.202 mm diameter; with an area of ~0.0320 mm2. The 1 mm2 is the inconsistent number.

See this for further info.

i want to quote the following excerpt from the manual !!

"No conductor smaller than 32/0.2 mm (1 mm2), or having less than three strands shall be used for interconnecting cabling except in the case of telephone extensions."

could not justify (1 mm2)....??

I don't know where they got 1 mm2, and I'm pretty sure they don't know, either. Literature sometimes contains mistakes, so it is good to know some basic calculations for the purpose of double-checking.

Mr Tony

That is a little vague. Don't you think you should be more clear in your comments so that the OP can understand what you mean?
