12 volt to 240 volt inverter for CPAP unit

04/26/2007 2:58 AM

What would be the maximum wattage inverter I would need to drive a CPAP machine that draws 60 watt. Also how long would a 12 volt 100 ah battery last.

Is a CPAP a medical Constant Pressure Airway Pump.... or is it something you've made up??

As for how long a 12 volt 100 Ah battery will last, well, it will last an awful long time as its made of long lasting plastic and lead and stuff...

A CPAP is a medical Constant Pressure Airway Pump. I was asking if I run the CPAP through an inverter coupled to a 100 ah battery how long will the CPAP machine run for until the pump stops

The Respironics units have a 12 volt DC plug that can run direct from a battery

I love my CPAP to much to submit it to anything but a sine wave inverter. Most medical devices specify that if an inverter is to be used it should be a sine wave device.

Yes... are they not wonderful things, CPAP machines and grandchildren that is. We just became gransparents and the daughter and her newborn come home to our community Sunday.

Seems to have generated a whole new level of interest in shopping on the part of my wife... oh well.
