Photovoltaic Simulation

11/10/2011 9:20 PM

Hi everyone,

I need help simulating this "photovoltaic generation" on a distribution network.

Can anyone please tell me the most appropriate software for doing this?

With the intention of seeking:

  • Voltage profile before and after adding PV DG
  • Short circuit analysis

I hope all expert engineers and electricians are willing to help my research on this
thanks, regards

Short circuit analysis for the purpose of selecting the correct protection equipment is the domain of British Standard 7671.

I like to use Mathematica to do my simulation work. This Mathematics analysis program is not preprogrammed for doing any single simulation. You will have to either find a suitable model already made by somebody else that matches precisely your circumstances (unlikely but possible), find a model similar to your circumstances that you can modify to fit your conditions (likely) or fabricate your own model and let this program crunch your numbers. The last two scenarios will allow you to really understand what the model is doing instead of just giving you a few buttons to push.
