Transformer in 500MW Power Plant

11/15/2011 7:06 AM

In 500MW power plant, generator output voltage is 21KV and its converted into 400KV by 3nos of single phase transformer(200MVA) primary winding of Generator Transformer is in Delta & secondary in star. Normally 3 phases are required for delta-star connection.

How single phase transformer can be connected in delta-star connection?

One cannot. Three can.

How single phase transformer transformers (3 In Nos) can be connected in delta-star connection.

This is the very basics of 3 phase circuit - study your text book again.

Please get out of the power plant you are working in, immediately. You are risking your life as well as that of your colleagues.

In a three phase transformer, two sets of three single phase windings (one set each for the HV as well as for the LV) are placed inside the transformer and their end connections are made internally, either in Star or in Delta. In three single phase transformers, you make these end connections externally! That is that!

Sir,

Pls sir, everybody have a respect on your experience, but nobody like to have a answer like this from you...

maybe he just entered the industry after his graduation or he don't have good mentors. they are very curious and they will ask silly questions at first (EVERBODY DID,DOES and DOING)..so PLS dont demotivate them like "get out of the company", "this is a home work question" like that...

if u r angry with them and u r not in a mood to help them, don't answer them, somebody else will help them...don't demotivate, your words can affect them...
