Actuator Sizing

11/16/2011 4:00 AM

Hi,

For Control Valve actuator sizing , shut of pressure should be considered as Process Design pressure eg 3.0 barg , or line class pressure (Class 150 #)

Why not give the data to a local valves distributor and let that operation size and select the actuator?

I agree with PWSlack. Shut off pressure should be whatever the process requires.

Give your valve supplier adequate information and he will give you proper feedback.

It's OK to tell the supplier that you don't know how to size the actuator. Two minutes into your conversation he will know that anyway.
