Unfortunately you will have to do the same as most members of this board have had to do, put your hand in your pocket and bring forth the £ $ € or whatever your local currency is.

We cannot advocate software piracy.

It is commendable that you wish to learn PLC language. But, your going to have to put some money towards your education. Along with the money comes time to learn electrical control systems and all of the related sensors required to run a PLC program correctly. Most of us here have many thousands of hours, of learning behind us. That allow us to program these units (some do better then others) and make machines run safely. You also must prepare as we have, to be allowed to program any PLC.

The internet is a great place to start, there are plenty of free resources available on the three main types (numerical hex, graphical ladder, graphical block).

I would suggest starting with PLC manufacturer websites, they generally have good information and a few (may) have free software that can run on your computer simulating their PLCS (meaning you don't need to buy one or the simulation software to have a play).

Also try an internet search for 'plc simulation software' as there are some free (and legal) ones available.
