Megahertz Frequency and Heat to Electricity

If ac frequency of a microwave ( 2400 M hertz )can create heat then how can this heat be transformed into electric current?

If you are interested in converting microwave transmission to electricity, you need a rectenna... efficiencies of over 85% have been observed.

Given that the 2400MHz is generated from electrical power at either 50 or 60Hz why would one want to change it straight back? Cut out the equipment and use the electricity straight from the wall outlet!

What is the matter with posters these days? Mutter, mutter....
