Design of Electrical System

Electrical Machine Design And Machine Drawing by M.K.Sibal is the book I studied which was long ago and was recommended at that time for Indian universities and AMIE section B .The book was very helpful only for transformers and rotating machines.

For transmission and Distribution you have to find other books

AMIE course material recommends many books suiting for present day syllabus ,which you can study.

• S Choudhuri, R Chakrabarti and P K Chattopadhyay. Electrical Science. The
Institution of Engineers (India) Textbook Series, Narosa Publishing House,
New Delhi.
• A H Cotton. Transmission and Distribution. ELBS edition. (For Group B, first
para of the syllabus only.)
• N Parkar Smith. Problems in Electrical Engineering. CBS Publishers and
Distributors, New Delhi.

It is advisable to work under an experienced engineer or to follow a short course on design than studying from books.
