It's a cross between a wedge and a wheel.

Please distinguish between a "screw shaft" and a "shaft screw"; this will help in advance to clear up confusion.

Dear "anonymous",

althought the question is poorly stated, without a trace of basic politeness or indication of some kind of previous personal effort, your answer is directly disrespectful, unpolite, and making a joke of orthography.

Following your statement, you really need to go back to college. For the basics.

Here an (actually weak) euro for you.

P.D: I you are not a native english speaker (same as I), I would gladly take back the orthography point.

Best regards,

Hold on just a minute. Lets not get nasty here with anyone no matter the question or how it is raised. If you wish to not answer because you don't understand or just think it's dumb question, then don't. But keep the thought that it's a dumb question to your self.

There has been many of questions put to me that I at first thought to be a smart ass or improperly asked question. As it turns out the person or persons only knew how to ask in the manner in which they approached the question in the first place. Once given the coaching needed by myself or others a truer picture evolved of what they wanted.

Communication in the proper manner with the worlds population could go a long way in stopping a lot of the words problems without adding to them. But alas, we are not all born to be great communicator's. My 2 cents.

It is a very old but still very viable concept.... It largely depends upon your application, can you provide any details that would help CR4 to help you?

What exactly do you want to know that can not be easily found by a quick search? Can you first try to look into the subject a little and then come back with some more specific question regarding "Screw shafts"

Dear Abnisheck:

In case you have doubts about the exact name of the device, I would suggest you to search for pictures of the same and post them here, since names can vary in different countries.

Not all, except AP#1 all had tried to help, but OP never came back to clarify.

And AP#1 had been positively obnoxious.

Be it a screw shaft, wedge and wheel, shaft screw, marrying an insolent, euro, lead screw or ball screw, I will not have any part of it.

And don't expect me to go anywhere near a senior's orifice either
